This is especially created for you if:
... you have never used artificial lights in your photography, or
... you are overwhelmed by the options in lighting gear, or
... you are scared of buying something and having no idea how it works, or
... you are not sure if lights are worth incorporating into your photography.
Over the course of 3 weeks, we'll cover:
ONE.
We'll start with the very basics - what is lighting?
This will cover types of lighting, the three factors of light, and give you 2 exercises to practice what you've learned.
TWO.
What if you just want to work with natural light?
We'll go over pros and cons, ways you can shape/control natural light on shoots, and one more exercise to practice what you've learned.
THREE.
We dive into artificial lights.
This week's email goes into the different types of lights, why you want to consider using them, and what to consider about existing light fixtures. Of course, you get homework here, too!
FOUR.
Let's talk about how flashes and strobes work.
Here, we'll cover how they 'talk' to the camera, basic ways to control the light, and another fun exercise to practice!
FIVE.
Your starter gear.
We'll go into some recommendations to get started, as well as what you'll probably grow into later on, and key things to look for in your lighting gear. This week brings your final exercise, one that you practice once you've gotten your first light!
SIX.
Wrap up.
We'll finish things up with a recap and final notes.
This is not an end, it's just the beginning!
